Tanya Pinkerton has over 15 years of experience in education at the preschool, elementary and higher education levels. She is currently leading two USAID-funded cooperative agreements, as program manager of the Higher Education Partnership - Morocco (HEP-M) as well as a principal investigator for the Teacher Excellence Initiative -Egypt. These projects allow her to broaden her leadership and content expertise impact by contributing to the transformation of primary teacher preparation and professional development. She is also a clinical assistant professor in the division of teacher preparation for Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. Dr. Pinkerton is committed to continued involvement in teacher preparation spaces, especially those that serve future special education teachers. Her interests include early childhood special education and the use of strategies to support inclusive education. Dr. Pinkerton is focused on embedding universal design for learning elements into higher education courses in order to create an inclusive environment for preservice teachers while modeling inclusive education strategies for future teachers.
