Dr. Hoyle is an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at Winthrop University, Rock Hill, South Carolina. During the time at Winthrop University, her work has been published in several national and international journals. Prior to her tenure at Winthrop University, she has served in many district-level leadership roles ranging from Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Director of Elementary Education, and Principal during her 38 years in education. She received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She holds additional degrees in Elementary Education with a focus on Gifted and Talented, Administration, Supervision and Curriculum and Instruction in Educational Leadership. Dr. Hoyle’s research has focused on school climate and culture, school finance, superintendent tenure and the impact on student achievement, underrepresented populations in education, and the impact of rurality and gifted education.
