Debbie Lewin serves as an University of Maryland Professional Development School Coordinator for the Elementary Education Program. In this capacity she oversees three semesters of the undergraduate professional program which include a yearlong internship while teaching corresponding seminar courses and maintaining relationships and training for university supervisors, school partners and mentor teachers. Debbie joined the University of Maryland in 1998 as a university supervisor.
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources from the University of Michigan in 1984 and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland in 1988, Debbie worked as elementary classroom teacher with Howard County Public Schools in Maryland and served as a mentor teacher to pre-service teachers from the University of Maryland.
