Tracy Dunheimer serves as the University of Maryland Elementary Education Program Co-Coordinator and Professional Development School Coordinator for Elementary Education. As Program Co-Coordinator she leads the Elementary Education Program and manages the professional program for MCert Elementary and undergraduate elementary students ensuring all program and licensure requirements are met. As Professional Development School Coordinator she oversees three semesters of the undergraduate professional program including four early field experiences and the yearlong internship while teaching corresponding seminar courses and maintaining relationships and training for university supervisors, school partners and mentor teachers. Research and professional interests include providing professional development for pre-service in-service and mentor teachers. Tracy served as the Elementary faculty lead on the PDS 2025 grant funded Supervising Mentor Teacher Academy. Tracy joined the University of Maryland in 2002 as a university supervisor.
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from West Virginia University in 1991 and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Towson University in 1994 Tracy worked as an elementary classroom teacher with Baltimore County Public Schools and served as a mentor teacher to pre-service teachers from Howard University, Morgan State University and Towson University.
