Amy Guillot is the Chair of the Teacher Education program at the University of Houston-Victoria. Dr. Guillot's area of academic expertise is literacy education; she has been a teacher and advocate of literacy education in K-12 classrooms as well as higher education for over 30 years. In her current role as Chair of the Teacher Ed Program at UHV, Dr. Guillot has been involved with implementing transformational change within the TEP in collaboration with US PREP, an organization that promotes transformational change through personnel and financial support. Pieces of that transformation involve one-year residencies for teacher candidates, cohort models for residents, course and degree plan changes to support the residency model, and partnership work with various local school districts.
