Dorothy Shapland Rodriguez is Associate Professor and Early Childhood Education Program Coordinator in the School of Education in the department of Early Childhood, Special Education and Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She was a preschool and elementary teacher for over thirty years before becoming a teacher educator. She earned a Masters in Education Administration and Policy from the University of Denver, and a Doctorate in Leadership for Educational Equity from the University of Colorado, Denver. Her teaching, research, and scholarly work revolve around intentional, culturally responsive, and trauma informed educational teaching and leadership practices for equity, access and inclusion.
