Research Assistant Professor
University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Dr. Sandra Rogelberg is a Research Assistant Professor in the Reading and Elementary Education Program at UNC Charlotte. Rogelberg’s interests are in the science of learning and socioemotional learning. Dr. Rogelberg’s research publications focus on topics such as instructional decision-making in preservice candidates and pedagogy related to learning principles and promoting equity in the classroom. Her work has been featured in a EdSurge and Dean For Impact’s blog in advance of conference presentations. She also co-leads the YET Program!, a socioemotional learning intervention that teaches growth mindset, self-talk, and self-regulation skills to elementary school students in grades 3-5. While optimally designed for face-to-face delivery by volunteers, an online version of The YET! Program was developed during the pandemic for broader dissemination and is free to any interested school, but may be particularly helpful to students in Title 1 schools. Prior to earning her PhD in educational psychology in 2018, Dr. Rogelberg was a children’s therapist and helped hundreds of children confront and address issues related to learning. She then established the Office of Student Disability Services at a private university and served as its director for 8 years.
