Dr. Carla-Ann Brown is a University School Assistant Professor in the College of Education at the University of Florida P.K Yonge K-12 Developmental Research School. She earned her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida’s School of Teaching and Learning in 2021. Her primary research areas focus on personalized and Universally Designed student experiences through standards and
project-based culturally sustaining learning and instruction. Dr. Brown regularly attends and presents at the Florida Educational Research Association (FERA), American Educational Research Association (AERA), UDL CAST symposium, and the International Society for the Social Studies (ISS). Additionally, she strives to continue to grow as a practitioner-researcher and social justice advocate for Culturally Sustaining education accessible to every learner in her many instructional roles. Through her tenure, her achievements include the 2022 P.K. Yonge District Teacher of the Year and a 2022-2023 Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching Research Program Participant in London, United Kingdom.
