At Indiana University, Bloomington, Taiwo Ogundapo is a phenomenal doctorate student and associate instructor where she studies science education with a focus on K–12 educational level. Prior to starting her doctorate degree, she taught science both officially and informally at the elementary and high school levels. She is passionate about both teaching and research and continues to volunteer with initiatives that encourage more girls to pursue careers in STEM fields. Her research interests include, among others, equity and diversity, learning communities, pre-service teacher education, science teacher professional development, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education. She seeks to endear more pre-service teachers to science teaching at the elementary level while also pushing the boundaries on the uneven distribution of high-quality and equitable educational opportunities for all. She is involved in several collaborative and individual research projects, ranging from the usage of virtual teaching simulators to global projects for pre-service teachers. She has assisted in facilitating multi-day seminars for science teachers on a range of subjects such as educating for environmental change, addressing students' science misconceptions, and the like. She is also a member of several reputable organizations that are at the forefront of research, teaching, diversity, equity, and Inclusion, such as AACTE, AERA, NARST, ASTE, and HASTI. She has held a position on the AERA Div. C group as the committee member tasked with organizing professional development activities for graduate students.
