Dr. Sandra C. Nichols is a Professor of Special Education and the Chair of the Instruction and Curriculum Leadership Department at The University of Memphis. She studies the intersectionality of race, culture, socioeconomic status, and disability. Her scholarship also addresses leadership, educating girls in the south, special education teacher education, and special educator recruitment and retention.
Sandra has worked closely with students with disabilities and their families in early childhood through post-secondary educational settings.
Dr. Nichols has been heavily involved in grant-funded research in urban and rural areas. She has conducted numerous presentations and authored publications.
