Dr. Cynthia Anderson has served as an elementary school teacher, instructional lead teacher, elementary school principal, director of professional learning, director of elementary curriculum, and director of middle grades curriculum. She holds degrees from Auburn University, the State University at West Georgia, and the University of Georgia. Dr. Anderson retired after 36 years in public school education. She has served as a Cognia accreditation field consultant and lead evaluator for numerous school and system-level engagement reviews. She has also conducted international accreditation reviews in Cairo, Egypt. In the past, Dr. Anderson taught undergraduate and graduate classes for Clark-Atlanta University, Clayton State College and University, and the University of Georgia. After 12 years of work, she recently retired from the position of assistant professor at Mercer University where she taught coursework in curriculum and instruction and assessment, served on numerous committees, supervised field experiences, and served as the liaison for a university partnership with a local school district. Since retirement, Dr. Anderson has continued to work with Mercer on the Dominican Republic partnership through the McDonald Center for the Advancement of Global Education. She also currently serves as a Co-Investigator for Georgia Educators Networking to Revolutionize and Transform Education (GENERATE), a $9.1 million federal grant initiative.
