Assistant Professor of Reading, Language, and Literacy

Vicki Piquette is the Reading, Language, and Literacy professor at Colorado State University-Pueblo. She served as an adjunct at CSU-Pueblo, Pueblo Community College, and Pikes Peak Community College for 16 years, before taking a tenure-track position at CSU-Pueblo in 2022. Vicki holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Elementary Education, a Master's Degree in Reading, and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood. She will finish her doctorate in Reading, Language and Literacy in 2024. Her research interests include structured literacy and the science of reading. She served as an elementary school teacher, teaching 1st and 2nd graders, before transitioning to higher education. When not teaching, Vicki enjoys spending time with her seven children and husband in the mountains and then scrapbooking all of their memories when she gets a chance.
