Dr. Sherman is the Director of The Partnership for Rural Educator Preparation (T-PREP) at CU Denver. She started her career in education in 1994 and served in K-12 settings as a classroom teacher, reading interventionist, and literacy coach before moving into higher education environments in 2015. Dr. Sherman earned her Ph.D. from the University of Northern Colorado in 2017, and since that time has worked as a teacher educator at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and served as the Coordinator of the Colorado Center for Rural Education from 2018-2021. Dr. Sherman became Director of The Partnership for Rural Educator Preparation at CU Denver in 2021 and brings a deep knowledge of collaborative partnerships and rural Colorado school districts to her work. Her areas of expertise include rural educator recruitment, and educator preparation pathways, as well as primary literacy and multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).
