Dr. Whittaker is the founder and Senior Consultant at Career Continuum Consultants (CCC), which advises national, state and university-based programs that promote teacher development from preparation to advanced certification. Prior to founding CCC in 2019, Dr. Whittaker served as director of teacher performance assessment at the Stanford Center for Assessment, Learning and Equity (SCALE) and led the development, policy, and support systems for edTPA, an assessment of readiness for licensure completed by over 300,000 new teachers during her 9 years with the program. Andrea is Professor Emeritus from the College of Education at San José State University. As a teacher educator, department chair and program leader, Andrea taught courses in literacy, assessment and multicultural foundations, and supervised teacher candidates in clinical practice. Throughout her career, she has participated in local, state, national and international initiatives related to policy, school-based partnerships, assessment and/or best practices in teaching and learning. Dr. Whittaker earned her Ph.D. in Psychological Studies in Education from Stanford University, MA and BS from California State University, Fullerton, and multiple subject teaching credential from San José State University.
