Sharon Feiman-Nemser is the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Professor Emerita of Jewish Education at Brandeis University. Before coming to Brandeis she served on the faculties of the University of Chicago and Michigan State where she developed progressive teacher education programs and studied teacher learning. At MSU, Prof. Feiman was affiliated with the Institute for Research on Teaching, the National Center for Research on Teacher Teacher and the National Center for Research on Teacher Learning. Since coming to Brandeis in 2001, she founded the Mandel Center for Studies in Jewish Education. She also started the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program and the Ed.M. in Teacher Leadership. Feiman-Nemser has written extensively on teacher education, learning to teach, mentoring and new teacher induction. a collection of her writings, Teachers as Learners, was published by Harvard Education Press in 2012.
