Donald Snead is Professor and Department Chair of Educational Leadership Department in the College of Education at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). He joined the faculty at MTSU in 2000. He has served as participant and co-director of a US Friendship Project between MTSU, University of Puget Sound (Tacoma), and Naruto University of Education (Japan). He worked with the Science Olympiad program at MTSU for several years.
Prior to his faculty position at MTSU, Dr. Snead was a high school and middle school science teacher and an educational consultant with the Tennessee Department of Education. Dr. Snead has taught various classes in the Educational Leadership graduate and undergraduate programs and successfully chaired six doctoral dissertation research projects. Presently, in addition to his duties as Department Chair, he teaches classes in the Ready2 Teach program to remain connected to new applicants to the Teacher Education Program. Dr. Snead's research interest has focused on teaching and learning with a particular focus on those labeled as under achieving learners.
