Robyn Ridgley is Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Education at Middle Tennessee State University. She joined the Early Childhood Education faculty at MTSU in 2005. She has served as the program coordinator for the Early Childhood Education program, graduate faculty member, and Chair of the Department of Elementary and Special Education. As associate dean, she supports the College with assessment, curriculum, recruitment, and teacher pathway initiatives.
Dr. Ridgley’s research has focused on factors impacting completion of teacher preparation programs and strategies for preparing teachers and service providers to work in early childhood and early intervention settings for young children. She has worked on externally funded projects that focused on integrating quality features of individualized family service plans in data systems and provision of home and community-based early intervention services. She has taught various classes in the Early Childhood Education undergraduate program and supported the assessment core of the Assessment, Learning, and School Success doctoral program.
Prior to her work at MTSU, Dr. Ridgley was a special education teacher in an elementary school in western Kentucky and a classroom teacher, home visitor, and administrator in an inclusive early childhood program in Nashville. During her doctoral program, she served as a research associate on the Kentucky Deaf-Blind Project and as project coordinator on other federally or stated funded projects focused on young children.
