Associate Dean and Director of Teacher Education and Partnerships

Dr. Lisa Barron is professor, Associate Dean, and the Director of Teacher Education and Partnerships in the Eriksson College of Education at Austin Peay State University. She earned national board certification and has worked in an elementary school as a teacher, assistant principal, and curriculum coach.
In the Eriksson College of Education, she leads the work to develop effective partnerships with local school districts, oversees practicum, student teaching, apprentices, and supports students in edTPA. Among her many publications is an edited book, A Practical Guide for edTPA Implementation: Lessons from the Field, which highlights effective practices and strategies for edTPA implementation from programs across the country. Her latest published book is Rethinking School-University Partnership: A New Way Forward, which was co-edited with Dr. Prentice Chandler and highlights partnership and Grow Your Own models from across the country. She is the 2022 recipient of the Richard M. Hawkins award, an Austin Peay award for noteworthy achievement in scholarship.
