Data Scientist
Branch Alliance for Educator Diversity
As a data scientist at BranchED, Alicia Gonzalez Quiroz, Ph.D., serves and communicates with multiple levels of stakeholders who are part of the National Educator Preparation Transformation Center at Branch Alliance for Educator Diversity (BranchED). Dr. Quiroz serves as a facilitator, consultant, and mentor, providing specialized coaching, development, and technical support to MSIs focused on building and implementing effective data management and usage, and transitioning from a culture of compliance to a culture of inquiry.
Dr. Quiroz’s experience is varied and multifaceted having worked in higher education in providing instruction, student support services, and grant administration for several years and over ten years in public health administration, promotion, policy, and research. Her area of interest is in research methodology, analysis, and interpretation, having extensive experience in statistical analysis for outcome assessments and program evaluations. Major roles have included developing, coordinating, administering, and evaluating services to provide guidance and support.
Dr. Quiroz is a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Scholarship recipient. She earned her Ph.D.s from Our Lady of the Lake University and North Dakota State University. She also has a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of the Incarnate Word, and the University of Texas at Austin, respectively. Dr. Quiroz is bilingual in English and Spanish to fully encompass the nuance for Hispanic-serving populations.
