Ryan Fitzpatrick is a PhD student in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program at the University of Kansas. For 10 years, Ryan taught several International Baccalaureate Diploma Courses in the Kansas City Public School system. He now works as a Field Instructor for the Institute for Urban Education at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. As a Field Instructor, Ryan supports new teachers by coaching them on the best practices in progressive education. Additionally, Ryan facilitates a seminar on teacher identity, local contexts, and historical/contemporary inequities in education. His research interests include critical pedagogy, social justice education, and other policies and practices to promote equity in K-12 schools.
