Dr. Susan Keesey is an Associate Professor of Special Education at Western Kentucky University (WKU). She currently serves as the Director of the School of Teacher Education within the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at WKU. The School's mission is to increase the number of quality teachers ready to meet the needs of every student in today’s diverse classrooms. Focus is on innovative teaching models such as Grow Your Own and apprenticeships designed to meet districts' needs.
Dr. Keesey earned her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University with a concentration in special education and Applied Behavior Analysis. Her research interests include dyslexia and remediating reading disorders, along with evidence-based practices to support teacher candidate development through clinical practice and innovative teacher preparation models.
