Coordinator, Teacher Education Scholarships and Incentive Programs
Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education
Jess has worked for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education with state scholarship and grant programs for eight years. In her current role, she administers the Inspired to Teach scholarship and employment incentive program for Oklahoma students participating in comprehensive educator preparation programs. Jess holds a bachelor's in English Literature from Oklahoma Christian University, a master's in Public Administration with an emphasis in Public Policy from The University of Oklahoma, and is currently working on her Ph.D in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies. Her research interests include: state/federal financial aid policy; bureaucratic discretion; P-12 engagement and its impact on higher education persistence/completion.
As a sixth-generation Oklahoman whose family tree is littered with educators, Jess is extremely passionate about the work she and the rest of the Oklahoma Teacher Connection currently do to strengthen the teacher pipeline, reduce the critical teacher shortage, and ensure all Oklahomans have a quality educational experience.
