Associate Dean, Teacher Education & Student Services
University of Iowa
I am currently the Associate Dean for Teacher Education and Student Services at the University of Iowa. I am also a Clinical Professor in Science Education. Prior to taking on this role, I served as the Program Coordinator for the Elementary Education Program and the Assistant Departmental Executive Officer for the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Iowa. Earlier roles in education included serving as Assistant Professor of Science Education at Wartburg College, working as a Test Development Specialist at ACT, Inc. and a fourteen year career as a high school science teacher and coach. My research interests include exploring the use of argument-based inquiry in science education specifically and teacher education more broadly, STEM education practices, and the use of multimodal communication as a tool for learning.
