Dr. Maria Earman Stetter spent 12 years teaching in the Chicago Public Schools system in two high schools and a middle school as a Special Education Teacher of adolescents with learning disabilities and emotional disturbance. At Roosevelt University, she taught Special Education classes and did research on students with learning disabilities and technology. She became an Associate Professor and then Department Chair.
She became the Associate Dean of the College of Education and Social Work at West Chester University in January 2021. Her associate deanship focuses on student services such as dispositions, clinical placements, and student issues as well as curriculum, assessment, and accreditation. She enjoys collaborating with students, faculty, and staff across the university and WCU’s increased focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.
